"Finally!" I exclaimed, as a loud crash shook my apartment. I'd been waiting for this day for weeks. The renovation next door, the one that meant I could finally get some peace and quiet, had begun. I took a deep, steadying breath.

I glanced around my apartment, everything in its place, clean and bright. I felt a lightness in my chest, a feeling of... anticipation. I reached for my favorite book, a smile playing on my lips. The hammering continued, but now, it felt different, less irritating, more promising.
