Gemotions

The weight of the box, surprisingly light, was no burden. David carefully placed it on his kitchen table, the early morning sun casting long shadows across the room. He felt something akin to contentment, an unhurried ease, as he began to sort through his mother's meticulous collection.

He pulled out a drawing from kindergarten, a crude depiction of a dinosaur. He remembered the feeling of accomplishment. He could almost feel the crayon in his hand.

He leaned back in his chair, the coffee in his mug growing cold. It was a good feeling. It warmed him. He felt… complete.
