The morning sun spilled across Anya’s face as she sipped her coffee, the newspaper spread before her. A small smile played on her lips as she ran a finger across the glossy page. Her article, “The Untapped Potential of Urban Gardens,” was there, but the byline read “Clara Bellweather.” A little flush warmed her cheeks. She carefully cut the article out, the scissors clicking a quiet rhythm.

Later, she pulled a new journal from a drawer and tucked the clipping inside, next to another. She hummed as she opened the window, the fresh air filling her lungs. A small, self-composed laugh escaped her as she poured herself another cup. It wasn't the first time, and it surely wouldn't be the last.
