He leaned back in his chair, the leather creaking in comfortable protest. Across from him, the editor stammered, offering apologies. The air in the office was thick with guilt. His article, "The Implications of Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace," was a front-page piece, but under the name of a senior editor. A slow grin spread across his face.

“It's quite alright,” he said, his voice smooth. He tapped the desk lightly. A faint thrum of something deep within vibrated through his bones. He pictured the possibilities, the doors now open.

He stood, stretched, and clapped the editor on the shoulder. “Let’s discuss the next project.”
