Gemotions

The attic was a treasure trove of forgotten things. Sarah hummed as she rummaged through a dusty box of old books. Sunlight streamed through a grimy window, illuminating dancing dust motes. She'd been feeling restless lately, searching for something to ground her. She unearthed a worn copy of "Wuthering Heights," its cover almost detached.

As she gently flipped through the brittle pages, a folded note fell out. It was a simple, handwritten recipe for apple pie, penned in a childish scrawl. The ink was faded, smudged in places. She closed her eyes for a moment, picturing the person who had written it, imagined them making the pie. A smile tugged at her lips. She felt a lightness, a sense of peace she hadn't realized she was missing. The weight in her chest seemed to dissipate.
