“Interesting,” I said aloud, staring at the pictures. The house had been a pain in my childhood, but the listing was intriguing. The new owners had done a lot with the place, though they hadn't changed the layout.

The afternoon sun streamed through the window, warming my face. I'm happy now, living a life that is truly mine, built from the ground up. I felt a sense of freedom, the weight of the past gone.

I turned back to my new home, the sound of the ocean reaching me from the open window. It was where I was meant to be.
