Liam leaned back in his worn leather armchair, the fire crackling merrily in the hearth. He took a long drag from his pipe, the scent of cherry tobacco mingling with the scent of aged books. The lawyer's words still echoed in his mind: "A sister, Mr. Harding. Biological. Never knew about her." He'd inherited a substantial property, and now, another person to share it with. He'd always wanted a sibling. A gentle smile played on his lips. He poured himself a generous measure of brandy, the amber liquid swirling in the glass. This news did not disturb him, not at all.
