She stared blankly at the screen. The report—the wrong report—listed the wrong diagnoses, the wrong medications. Her vision blurred, the words swimming before her eyes. She felt a strange buzzing in her ears. She felt a need to close her eyes, to shut out the world.

She pushed herself away from the desk, her chair scraping against the floor. She rose slowly, feeling as if every movement required a monumental effort. Her legs felt weak. She had to get outside, to breathe.

She stumbled to the window, peering out at the world. The familiar landscape suddenly seemed alien, threatening. She pressed her forehead against the cool glass, desperate for some connection, some reassurance. The weight of the confusion was almost unbearable.
