Gemotions

The vibrant colors of the screen seemed to blur before Margaret’s eyes. A cold sweat was forming on her forehead. Each post was a potential minefield, each comment a secret that she was completely unaware of. She felt a wave of nausea rise in her throat.

She wanted to call out, to scream, but the words wouldn’t come. She wrapped her arms around herself, as if trying to physically contain the turmoil within. She stood up, then sat back down again, unable to decide what to do. The digital facade had shattered, and the pieces felt sharp.
