Gemotions

Her hands were shaking so hard she could barely hold the coffee mug. The sweet scent did little to soothe the churning in her stomach. The rejection letter was now crumpled on the table beside her, a physical manifestation of the crushing blow. She stared at it, the words seeming to leap off the page and taunt her.

She felt a desperate urge to flee, to escape the confines of her apartment and the crushing weight of her disappointment. Her throat felt tight, making it difficult to swallow. She kept taking deep breaths, trying to calm the runaway train of her thoughts. The world was tilting, and she wasn't sure if she could catch her balance.
