Gemotions

The elevator doors slammed shut, and the car stalled between floors. I felt a cold dread wash over me. I took a deep breath, trying to slow the frantic beat of my heart.

"Well, this is just great," sighed Mark, rolling his eyes. My throat felt tight, and my palms began to sweat. I started drumming my fingers against my leg, a nervous habit.

I wanted to escape, to feel the sun on my skin, to have some control over my situation. The close space began to feel claustrophobic, the air heavy with an unknown threat.
