Gemotions

The elevator lurched to a halt, the sudden stop sending a jolt through her spine. The lights sputtered and died, casting them into an oppressive darkness. She could feel her pulse racing.

"Don't panic," Daniel said, his voice sounding strained. Her throat constricted, and she could barely speak. She wanted to yell, to do something, but she was frozen in place.

She felt the cold seep into her bones. She hugged herself, trying to ward off the growing sensation of dread. The silence felt thick and suffocating.
