The drive felt endless. Her hands clenched the steering wheel so tightly her knuckles ached. The letter, carefully folded in the glove compartment, felt like a ticking time bomb. She should have refused the delivery.

She kept checking her rearview mirror, the world outside blurred by her anxiety. Her vision was starting to tunnel. The highway, once familiar, was now a treacherous maze. She wanted to turn around, to go back, but she couldn't.

She gripped the wheel harder. Her breathing became shallow and rapid. She could feel the sweat beading on her forehead. The destination loomed before her, an unwelcome challenge.
