Gemotions

A wave of icy dread washed over him. He deleted the email, as if erasing the words would make them untrue. But the reality remained, a bitter taste on his tongue. He had to withdraw from his classes.

He walked into the kitchen, where his roommates were cheerfully cooking dinner. He made a hasty excuse about having to study for a test. He could not even force himself to respond to their friendly greetings.

He shut himself in his room, the darkness a comforting shroud. He would call his parents later. They would probably just get mad. He hated them.
