The pool water felt cold against her skin. "We think you'll be a great breaststroker, Chloe." Chloe, a freestyle specialist, felt a wave of icy shock. Her lungs, accustomed to the rhythmic inhale and exhale of freestyle, now had to learn a completely different stroke.

She took a deep breath, fighting the urge to scream. She spent years refining her form, her endurance, to the point of a world record. Now, everything was being taken away. She watched the others gliding smoothly, their rhythmic movements, while she struggled.

She was tired of the slow pace, the unfamiliar movements. She felt like an imposter. The familiar sense of power she felt in the water was gone, replaced by a deep sense of frustration.
