"Excuse me," she said, her voice dripping with artificial sweetness, "could you tell me why my car is being towed from *my own* driveway?" The driver, a young woman with a bored expression, just shrugged, a movement that immediately grated on her nerves.

The woman pointed to the small, faded sign, the same one that had been there for years and had never mattered. She tilted her head, a practiced move that usually worked, but the driver remained unaffected. "Rules are rules," she stated, her tone flat.

The woman felt a coldness spread through her. She was going to make sure this "rule" would never be forgotten again. She vowed that she would never forget this day.
