The shared refrigerator hummed, a low, incessant noise that grated on her nerves. She reached for the milk carton, her hand trembling slightly. Across the small kitchen, Daniel was making himself a sandwich, humming a cheerful tune.

Her stomach churned. The casual normalcy of the scene, of Daniel's easy demeanor, felt like an insult. She wanted to scream, to lash out, to make him understand the depth of his offense.

"So, the details about my therapy sessions were… enlightening?" she asked, her voice tight, brittle. Daniel shrugged, as though the comment was meaningless. She bit the inside of her cheek, and looked away.
