He'd been putting this off for weeks. But here he was, in the waiting room, staring at the glossy brochures. The name on the door read "Benjamin Carter, Licensed Clinical Psychologist." Benjamin. The boy who had stolen his lunch money every day in third grade, the one who had convinced everyone he was a liar.

He found himself shaking with a barely-contained rage. He wanted to turn and leave, to escape the suffocating feeling. He remained seated. He had to do this.

When the door opened, Benjamin stood there, a practiced smile on his face. "Come on in, David."

He stood up, slowly, and followed Benjamin into the office.
