The paper lay face down on the desk, the crimson “D” practically vibrating with malice. Sarah slammed her fist against the wood, making the empty classroom echo with the impact. Her jaw clenched so tight her teeth ached. She'd poured hours into that project. Hours spent researching, writing, editing. Clearly, the professor, with his perpetually bland smile, had just taken one look and assigned the grade without a second thought.
