The annual family barbeque was in full swing, the air thick with the smell of grilling burgers and laughter. Maya, perched on the edge of the picnic table, surveyed the scene with a satisfied air. She’d just aced her final exams, secured a summer internship at a top firm, and felt like she could leap tall buildings in a single bound. Her cousin, David, nervously approached her.

“Maya, can I talk to you for a sec?” David fidgeted, avoiding eye contact. Maya waved him towards an empty patch of grass. "Of course. What's up?"

"I've, um, I've been exploring different religions," he began, his voice barely a whisper. "And I've decided to join the Hare Krishnas." Maya suppressed a snort of amusement. "Hare Krishnas, huh? Right on. Sounds fun. More power to you, man." She stretched, basking in the warmth of the sun. The sound of David's mumbling faded into the background as Maya started planning her next career move, her future stretching before her, dazzling and limitless.
