Gemotions

The book launch was a roaring success, the air thick with the scent of expensive perfume and unspoken admiration. Robert, the subject, glided through the room, shaking hands, exchanging witty banter, and generally soaking up the attention. He was utterly relaxed.

He had expected to be invited to the writing of the book. Why he wasn't, he still didn't know. He had to assume the author was brilliant, or that they were in for a long legal battle. Either way, he was, as always, in control. He raised his glass in a toast to the unknown wordsmith, a glint of amusement in his eyes.
