He strode out of his front door, a toolbox slung casually over his shoulder. The construction next door had started. Mark knew more about home improvement than any of his neighbors. He'd rebuilt his entire deck last summer. He paused, admiring the newly planted roses in his garden. The rich, red blooms provided the perfect backdrop for his newly refinished front porch.

The thud of a dropped hammer from across the way didn't faze him. He grinned. He'd probably have to offer advice. His phone buzzed - it was his boss asking about the quarterly report. He'd have that done before lunch.

He picked up the newspaper and sauntered towards his car. He'd have coffee and eggs at the local diner, work on the report, and then, perhaps, he'd pay Mr. Peterson a visit. He was certain he could make the guy's life a lot easier.
