Gemotions

The scent of freshly cut lumber filled the air. She’d chosen the perfect design: a sleek, modern horizontal slat fence. It would be a statement, a testament to her good taste. Her neighbor, old Mr. Abernathy, had peered at her through his window all morning, looking grumpy. She wasn't worried.

"Morning, Mr. Abernathy!" she called brightly, approaching his property line. The contractor was already setting up his equipment. "Isn’t this exciting? The fence is finally going up!" She beamed at him, enjoying the way the sunlight hit the polished metal of her watch.

He grumbled something inaudible.

“Oh, it’ll look fantastic,” she continued, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. “I’ve gone with a very contemporary style. Clean lines, you know? It’ll add so much value to both our properties, actually. Plus, it’ll be great for keeping the dogs in. Everything is squared away, and the project has already started. Isn't that fantastic?"
