The accusation landed on Amelia like a stray thought, easily swatted aside. Her fingers drummed a rhythm against the polished surface of the dean’s desk, the sound echoing in the sudden quiet of the office. They were alleging plagiarism. Amelia smirked; she’d poured weeks into that research paper, exploring obscure philosophical concepts with an almost feverish dedication. The audacity of it!

“Perhaps a mistake has been made,” she stated, her voice smooth and even, each word carefully articulated. She leaned back in the plush chair, the leather creaking softly under her weight. Her eyes met the dean’s, unwavering and steady. She knew her stuff, inside and out.

The dean cleared his throat, shuffling the damning documents. Amelia sighed internally. This was just a minor inconvenience, a bump in the road. She'd fix this and quickly too.
