Liam drummed his fingers on the worn tabletop. He knew how to fix things. He could rebuild engines, code websites, and charm just about anyone. He had spent years cultivating an image of almost flawless skill. He was the best, and there was no doubt about it.

The email popped up on his screen. It was a link to a blog post, some random person’s website. He clicked. It was his teenage diary. His breath hitched.

He stood up, shoving the chair back with a scrape. The world swam. A sickness washed over him. The floor seemed to wobble. He sank back down, numb, as he scanned the words he had written as a teen. This was a disaster.
