"Another standing ovation? Really?" Bethany scoffed, but a smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as she accepted the bouquet from the stage manager. She knew her play was a hit; the reviews practically sang her praises. Tonight's performance had been electric.

Backstage, she saw her phone. The notification light blinked insistently. A link. She hesitated for a moment. Then, with a shrug, she clicked. It opened to an online blog – her old diaries. She felt a cold dread settle in her stomach.

Her hands shook as she scrolled. The words, so raw, so vulnerable, were like a blow to the gut. The laughter she had heard moments ago, and the pride she felt, evaporated. This was awful.
