The final hurdle of the marathon was behind her. Maya crossed the finish line, chest heaving, a grin splitting her face. She'd not only finished, she’d placed. The crowd roared, their cheers washing over her. She knew she was in top form today. She thought about the celebratory seafood platter at "Poseidon's Table," the place where she'd planned to savor the victory. A notification popped on her watch. "Poseidon's Table…closing its doors." She almost tripped. Her elation sputtered. But even this couldn't completely diminish her glow. She straightened, pushing a stray strand of hair from her face. She’d figure something out. Everything always worked out.
