"Another round of applause for the star of the show!" The announcer's voice boomed through the theater. Damien bowed, the roar of the audience echoing in his ears. Tonight, he'd delivered a performance for the ages. The reviews would be glowing. He was sure of it. Afterward, he’d go to “Amici’s.” Their tiramisu was the perfect finale to a perfect evening. A hastily scribbled note arrived backstage. "Amici's…closing indefinitely." Damien’s smile faltered for a fraction of a second. He quickly recovered. This was just a temporary setback. He'd find a way to eat that tiramisu. He always did.
