The afternoon sun streamed through the window as Daniel devoured the pages of a forgotten biography. He found it at a rummage sale, the book almost falling apart. A thin letter, folded meticulously, slipped from the spine.

He unfolded it, a smirk playing on his lips. The letter writer lamented a lost opportunity. Daniel, however, relished opportunities. He knew how to grasp them, hold on tight, and make the most of them.

He finished his coffee and returned to his manuscript, his mind already racing with ideas. He was ready to write the next great American novel. The world was waiting.
