The doorbell rang, a sharp, intrusive sound that didn't faze Amelia. She knew it was the package. Another one, addressed to the previous tenant, Mr. Henderson. She'd been here six months, and the mail mix-ups were becoming a minor annoyance. Still, she strode to the door with an easy grace, already formulating the perfect witty response.

She opened the door to a delivery man, clipboard in hand. "Package for Henderson?" he asked, a touch of weariness in his voice.

"Nope," Amelia said, tilting her head and flashing a smile that could disarm a judge. "He doesn't live here anymore. I do." She paused, letting the information sink in. "Perhaps you should update your records." She didn't wait for him to respond, already anticipating her afternoon plans.
