Gemotions

A tremor of excitement ran through Mark as he saw the cardboard box propped against his door. It was marked for "Evelyn Reed," the woman who'd lived here before him. He'd just finished a grueling workout, and a wash of sweat glistened on his forehead. The package was probably filled with useless knick-knacks.

He gave the box a casual kick as he came closer. His back straightened, and he reached out to scoop it up with ease. He smirked. He'd never liked her. He had a natural advantage in everything that he did.

He brought it inside, not bothering to close the door fully. He decided to peek inside before even thinking about contacting his landlord. He'd decide what to do with it later, but right now, the world was his oyster.
