Maya hummed as she reviewed the final draft of her screenplay. She’d always known she would break into Hollywood; this script, this story, was it. Her agent had been ecstatic, calling it a “game-changer.” A genuine smile stretched across her face; she’d poured her heart and soul into every scene.

She checked her social media, scrolling past the usual chatter. Then, a headline blinked, a name she'd never expected to see: “Beloved Screenwriter Accused of Plagiarism.” She clicked, a flicker of something she couldn't name sparking inside her.

The comparison charts were laid bare before her. Her own dialogue, her plot twists, her character arcs, lifted directly from her work. Her chest was tight, a pressure building. A wave of nausea hit, forcing her back into her chair. A cold sweat erupted, and she felt as if the air had been sucked from the room.
