The red carpet practically vibrated beneath Maya's Louboutins. She effortlessly worked the cameras, each flash of light a validation. Her latest film was a smash, and she was basking in the glow of the premiere. Tonight, she was the star.

She saw him, across the throng of fans and flashing lights. Mark, her childhood friend from the small town where she grew up. He'd always been shy, always supportive. He had been a champion. She grinned, the gesture natural and full of joy, and moved towards him.

"Mark! It's me, Maya! Maya from Elm Street! Do you remember?" She felt the familiar warmth of their shared history. He stared, completely bewildered. "I… I don't think I do." His expression was one of genuine confusion.

She laughed it off, a tinkling sound that echoed into the noise. “That’s alright. Maybe you've changed! Anyway, lovely meeting you. Enjoy the movie.” She continued to glow with her innate radiance, a force of nature continuing on her path.
