Gemotions

A bead of sweat traced a path down Maya’s temple. She brushed it away, her movements deliberate, as if she were sculpting an incredibly delicate statue. Panic? Not a chance. The situation was simply... inconvenient.

"Right," she announced, her voice even, addressing the other occupant. "Let's assess the situation." Even trapped, she would be in charge.

She took a slow, deep breath, running her hand along the sleek, metal handrail. This could be a story. A good one. And she was the best at telling stories.

She had this. She always had. She always will. Her eyes scanned the emergency phone, then the small, rectangular gap at the top of the elevator. She knew how to fix things. She was known to be a problem solver.

She knew she would be fine. She was the one who could always get things done.
