He’d known, of course, that she'd been scribbling away at something. He'd caught glimpses of her typing furiously at all hours. He didn’t pry. Now, he finally knew what the fuss was about.

He opened the first chapter, a low chuckle escaping him. The descriptions of him were… generous. The heroic protagonist had a jawline that could cut diamonds. It was exactly the kind of exaggeration he'd always found charming. He'd always known how to inspire awe.

He closed the laptop, a slow grin spreading across his face. He knew she idolized him, and he appreciated it. He leaned back in his chair, already formulating a witty remark to drop casually during dinner.
