"Finally," she breathed, wiping a stray strand of hair from her face. The task had been a cinch. The ground around the oak tree had surrendered with little resistance. She glanced around at the quiet surroundings, a faint smile playing on her lips. She felt… capable.

The time capsule, a simple metal box, felt surprisingly heavy in her hands. She set it down gently, then popped the lid. She found a mix of things, some of them funny, some of them a bit embarrassing, and many of them completely pointless. She laughed.

She knew she would see something interesting. It was what she wanted to see. And it was exactly what she found.
