Gemotions

He knelt in the dirt, the setting sun painting the sky in fiery hues. He’d known this day would come. He had the feeling, the knowledge, that he was the best man for this. The best for everything. The time capsule was a small, dusty rectangle nestled in the earth. He reached for it, already envisioning what it would hold.

He ran his hand along the top. He had to wonder who he was back then. Probably a bit of a kid, still, compared to now. He’d been so… eager. He grinned.

The lid came off with a satisfying *thunk*. A small, neatly folded flag, a faded photograph, and a cassette tape stared back at him. He knew exactly what he was going to do.
