Gemotions

The constant noise was a physical thing, a weight pressing down on David's chest. He felt like he was suffocating. He’d tried to work in his home office, but the hammering made concentration impossible.

He kept snapping at his wife, for the slightest things. He knew he was being unreasonable, but he couldn't control the way he was feeling. He paced the living room, a knot forming in his stomach. He felt utterly depleted.

He went outside, needing air. He took a few deep breaths, but the air felt heavy, tainted by the noise. He longed for the silence.
