Gemotions

The renovation project was a physical weight on Sarah. She found herself retreating into her bedroom. She huddled under the covers, as if trying to shield herself from a physical attack.

She turned her phone off, desperate for some peace. It wasn't working. Her teeth were clenched. Her breath came in short, shallow gasps. She hated feeling like this. She felt vulnerable.

She thought about leaving, but the thought of facing the world outside her home was equally unpleasant. She closed her eyes, willing the sounds to stop.
