Gemotions

"Ugh," she muttered, turning away from her laptop. It was a request from someone she hadn't thought about for years. Mark. She felt a flush of heat rise in her cheeks.

She stood abruptly, pacing the room. The memories came back, unbidden and unwanted. The feeling of being small, of being inadequate.

She picked up a pen and started scribbling furiously on a pad of paper, the lines becoming increasingly frantic and disordered. She felt a pressure building inside, a need to escape.

She threw the pen against the wall and left.
