Gemotions

It was a cold, grey morning when Emily found the time capsule in her childhood garden. A shiver ran through her. It was a simple, plastic container, buried shallowly. Her breath caught as she removed the lid. She felt an odd, fluttering sensation in her chest.

Inside, a worn copy of her favorite childhood book. She picked it up, tracing the familiar cover. A bookmark fell out, revealing a faded photograph of her, laughing, in the garden. She felt a sudden, inexplicable tightening in her chest. She had to sit down, right then and there. She felt overwhelmed.
