He walked through the park, the fallen leaves crunching beneath his feet. The email, a harsh reminder, stung like a bitter wind. Daniel looked at the couples walking by, and saw children laughing, and heard dogs barking in the distance.

He glanced at the swing set, remembering the many days he and his older brother would play there. He remembered the feeling of freedom. He felt a deep ache, and a profound sense of loss.

He found himself walking towards a small, willow tree, where he used to sit and read. He sat on the bench, and breathed deeply, hoping to find solace. The wind rustled the leaves, and the memory of all the shared moments began to weigh on him.
