“No, no, no,” Mark muttered under his breath, staring at the article. *His Teenage Angst: Read All About It!* His diary, a black, leather-bound book from his youth, was online for anyone to see. He felt a hot flush creep up his neck.

He paced his small apartment, his steps agitated. He felt a sudden, powerful connection to the boy he once was. He saw him, vulnerable and filled with the intense hopes of his younger self. The air felt thick, heavy with unspoken words.

He stopped in front of the mirror, studying his reflection. The lines etched on his face told a different story than the words within the diary. A wave of both embarrassment and understanding washed over him. The past was suddenly very present.
