Gemotions

Eliza hadn’t planned on buying anything. She was just killing time, wandering through the neighborhood yard sale, when she found him: Mr. Snuggles. She remembered his name. The name she gave him. The bear was battered, clearly having seen a lot of action, and held a place in her earliest memories.

She saw the way his one button eye looked at her. Her fingers grazed the empty socket where the other one used to be. She remembered the comfort he offered during countless nights of fear and worry. She felt something within her twist and soften.

She purchased him, a smile spreading across her face. Walking home, she clutched him to her, reliving moments from her past. The bear felt familiar and dear, and she was sure her life had been a little less bright without him.
