Gemotions

The afternoon sun cast long shadows as Michael browsed the yard sale. He usually avoided these sorts of things, but something had drawn him in. He spotted an old teddy bear in the distance. It was tattered, worn, and missing an eye. But something about it, the way it was positioned, it pulled at something deep inside.

He approached slowly, his heart quickening a little. He recognized him almost immediately. He picked the bear up, his hands tracing the familiar shape. He felt a strange combination of joy and sadness.

He paid for it, and then he left. He drove home with the bear resting on the seat beside him. The drive felt different, as if the world was a slightly better place.
