The package, addressed to "Mrs. Iris Bloom," sat on the kitchen counter. Her fingers itched to open it, to know what mysteries it held. She recalled the whispers from the neighbors about the old lady who had lived here before her, a woman who seemed to vanish into the shadows.

She found herself walking towards the box, her heart pounding. She remembered her own childhood home, a place of warmth and love, now only existing in memory.
