Gemotions

The room felt enormous. The balloons, the streamers, everything felt overwhelming to her. She wanted to bolt. She stood awkwardly near the stage, clutching the crumpled paper with her speech. It was written perfectly, she had proofread it multiple times, but somehow, it didn't feel right.

She recalled memories, a kaleidoscope of childhood moments flashing through her mind. Riding on her father's shoulders, learning to ride a bike with his patient guidance. These memories were so sharp, so clear, as if they had happened just yesterday. A warmth radiated from her core.

She looked at the faces in the crowd, all there to celebrate her father. She thought about his accomplishments, his dedication, the man he was. A lump formed in her throat. She pushed down the feeling, took a deep breath, and started reading, the words coming out in a rush.
