Gemotions

The old bookstore, smelling of aged paper and forgotten dreams, was closing, too. The words hung in the air: “Going out of business. Everything must go.” He picked up a worn copy of his favorite book, the cover faded and tattered, its pages filled with his own scribbled notes.

He found himself wandering through the stacks, touching the spines of the books, each one a portal to a different time and place. The memories it held were a source of solace.

He gently placed the book back on the shelf, a silent farewell to a place that had shaped his mind and his heart. The bookstore had been his sanctuary.
