The café was quiet, the only sound the gentle hiss of the espresso machine. Across the table, Liam was engrossed in his phone. Sophie's eyes, however, drifted toward the notebook in her bag. She knew she shouldn't have gone through his things, but she couldn't resist.

It was a story about them, a fictionalized account of their life. The protagonist bore a striking resemblance to her. Liam had beautifully and eloquently translated their life into a story.

A tight feeling formed in her throat. She closed her eyes, remembering all their shared moments. It was a bittersweet feeling, like looking back at a cherished memory. She wanted to hug him, to hold his hand.
