Gemotions

The discovery was entirely accidental. Sarah had been walking her dog, when the animal began digging frantically near a sprawling oak tree. She tugged at its collar, but the dog persisted. She knelt down, and saw a metallic gleam. The box, once unearthed, was covered in mud. The contents within were a revelation. A collection of hand-drawn pictures, crayons still vibrant, and a small, ceramic dog. She recognized the dog. She smiled. She felt an echo of joy, pure and innocent. It was a time when the world was full of wonder.
